Morning free to explore swansea, the second largest city in Wales.
In the afternoon, we travel to the Gower Peninsula, the first place in Britain to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a picturesque area with rugged limestone cliffs and golden sands.
We visit the attractive small village of Rhossili at the western end of Gower. Rhossili Bay was voted best beach in the UK for two years running!
The National Botanic Garden's centrepiece is the Great Glasshouse designed by world-famous architects Norman Foster and Partners.
Inside the amazing tilted glass dome is a Mediterranean landscape dominated by a six-metre deep ravine. Rock terraces and sheer faces are cut by streams and waterfalls.
A lake provides a humid habitat at the foot of the chasm.
We travel to the Brecon Beacons and a ride on the Brecon Mountain railway, with superb views along the length of the Tal Fechan Reservoir.
Break for lunch in Brecon and return via the imposing Black Mountain.
