Our Highland Party holiday is based in probably one of the most picturesque areas in the UK, right on the side of Loch Linnhe surrounded by dramatic highland-mountain scenery.
Oban
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we take the 40-mile loch side drive to Oban, with loch shore views all the way. Free time in Oban to explore “The Gateway to the Isles”, with its many shops, whisky distillery, museums and wonderful seafood restaurants.
Loch Ness and Inverness
One of the most scenic road journeys in the UK takes you along the Great Glen to Fort Augustus at the head of Loch Ness. We stop at the Loch Ness visitor centre, we then set off for the highland capital of Inverness and enjoy some free time. Returning along the shoreline of the loch with amazing views all the way.
West Highland Line Railway
FROM FORT WILLIAM TO MALLAIG
Described as the greatest railway journey in the world! The 43- mile West Highland Railway journey between Fort William and Mallaig takes you past a list of extremes. From Ben Nevis, to the 21 arched Glenfinnan viaduct. Passing deep lochs, high mountains and coastal views across to the Isles. With time to explore the fishing town of Mallaig. The road journey in your coach is very different to the rail journey with a stop at Glenfinnan to see Bonnie Prince Charlie’s monument at the head of Loch Shiel. Finally, Neptunes Staircase in Banavie, a series of 8 cock gates on the Caledonian Canal. (One leg by train and one leg by coach between Fort William and Mallaig.
