Entry to Stirling Castle and Falkirk Wheel Boat Trip
This morning we visit Stirling and Stirling Castle which is one of Scotland's most historically important sites and was once a favoured residence of the Stewart kings and queens who held grand celebrations at the castle.
After breakfast, we travel through this area of outstanding Highland beauty.
We make our way through Drymen and on to Loch Lomond Shores – the southern tip of the loch for retail therapy.
We continue our scenic drive over to Loch Fyne and the lovely town of Inveraray.
This 18th Century Georgian town has lots to see and offer including the castle, jail house, pier and the Artic Penguin!
This morning we visit two attractions; the Kelpies and nearby Falkirk Wheel – we take a boat cruise and witness the rotating boat lift in Scotland, connecting the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. Board the boat as it is hoisted 35 metres high on the world’s only rotating boatlift.
Hotel is set in an idyllic location on the edge of Aberfoyle, with emphasis on friendly staff, good entertainment and fine food, the Rob Roy is a favourite with groups.
All en-suite rooms are tastefully decorated and offer TV, telephone, tea/coffee facilities and hairdryer.
The hotel has a lift. Having undergone a lot of work in 2017 the hotel is looking to be 3* by 2018.
