Avon Valley Railway ride with cream tea
Today, we head towards the Dockyard, where we can discover the ship that changed the world: Brunel’s ss Great Britain, the world’s first great ocean liner.
We head beneath the glass sea, walk through the history of the SS Great Britain in the Dockyard Museum and step onto the ship itself.
We also have time to see the exciting new national museum and visitor experience, Being Brunel.
Visitors will be invited to step into the mind of Isambard Kingdom Brunel as he is brought vividly to life with never-before-seen personal possessions, documents and artefacts.
We visit a new attraction for 2018 - aerospace Bristol. The collection will offer a unique glimpse inside the aerospace industry from the point of view of the people who designed and built our nation’s aircraft over the past 100 years.
Aerospace Bristol will tell a fascinating story of more than a century of flight and give visitors the chance to step aboard its star attraction, the iconic Concorde 216, the last of the supersonic passenger jets to be built and the last to fly.
We then make our way to the beautifully restored Victorian station at Bitton. Here we join the avon Valley railway which has brought the sounds and smells of steam back to the Avon Valley.
We can sit back, relax and enjoy a 6 mile round trip out into the glorious countryside of the Avon Valley as our waiter serves us a cream tea.
Modern hotel with leisure facilities located near St Mary Redcliffe Church and about a 20 minute walk to the city centre.
